' I walk upon the crisp dry earth, the birds they still now sing; but quickly they dart off to their perches as the cool evening wind blows in.......
The sun still shines in radiant brilliance, yet mercifully its heat grows weaker; and with sooner setting the gorgeous days grow now shorter......
Laughing children still run joyful, but soon their mothers shall call to end their play; before long they will sit in classrooms longing for a warm summer's day.......
The little creatures begin to look restless, slowly the boats return to anchor at the docks; young couples float about busily, seizing the waning chance to run amok.........
Still I amble in the warmth of happiness, but I am weary of my fall; I watch helpless as St. Augustine slowly drops from my wall............
I savor the remnants of summer, rejoice in nature's beauty as I count the moments down; for, soon, the frigid hand of winter shall steal my smile, and leave me with a frown.......'
