Dear Student

heh heh...so last week my prof asked me to write this poem that i had trouble doing...which in itself inspired what turned out to be a good poem (read the last blog post to keep up to speed)...well this week he asked for a response to my cheeky "dear professor", a response from the "professor" himself...and after my usual difficulties, this is what i came up with (hope you enjoy):

Dear Student

I'm sorry for these fears of thine,
And for these thoughts that you opine;
However, I am not inclined
To bear this undeserved malign.
I thought this task for you was fine,
a chance to help your words refine;
Sadly, I must now resign
Myself to hear you pine and whine.
It seems you have a lazy mind,
Like one confined to lay supine,
Flaccid, and without a spine;
I should have noticed the fine line
Between a poet who's divine
And one whose creative eye was blind...

...I should have known you'd never shine....
